Held each January in downtown Niles, the beloved Hunter Ice Festival celebrates over 20 years of frosty artistry and community fun.

Rooted in the legacy of the Hunter Brothers Ice and Ice Cream Company—founded around Barron Lake the festival honors local history and winter traditions.

Each year the festival brings thousands of people from as far away as the Chicago suburbs and Indianapolis to downtown Niles to take in the sculptures, and live ice carving events. Family-friendly attractions include ice ping‑pong, cornhole, and sledding!
